An Octo Browser alternative with a free tier that is not a trial

There is no free desktop plan. The entry point is 10 EUR/mo for three profiles. API access starts at the Base tier, 79 EUR/mo.

That last detail matters if you automate. To script anything against Octo you are on their third tier, at 79 EUR/mo, before you have written a line.

Where AntiBrow is built differently

Unlimited local profiles free forever, no card, no expiry. Paid plans start at $9.9/mo and buy concurrency (1 free, then 5, 20, 100 simultaneous browsers), cloud sync, managed residential proxies and Live View.

Automation is on every tier, including free. launch() returns standard Playwright Browser and Page objects, and the SDK runs as an MCP server from one line of config. There is no tier gate on the API, because the API is just Playwright.

Two other structural differences:

Profiles live on your disk. Cookies, storage and passkeys are your files. Cloud sync is opt-in per profile, so an unsynced profile is one we cannot read. That is where the data was written, not a promise you have to trust.

Passkeys persist per identity. Each profile has its own virtual authenticator, so an enrolled passkey is captured and replayed at the next sign-in. As sites make passwordless the default, a profile that cannot hold one gradually stops being able to log in.

Where Octo Browser is the better answer

• You want a mature, heavily polished desktop product. Octo has been at this a long time and it shows in the UI and the workflow tooling.
• You need real team seats. Their Team tier includes 6 members with proper roles. AntiBrow bills per account with no seat charge, which is cheaper but is not a permissions model.
• You are in a EUR-billing organisation. Small, but it is a real procurement consideration.
• Their mobile profiles matter to you. They advertise 100 free iOS profiles through their mobile app. We do not do mobile.
• You are already running on it. No Octo profile importer exists yet, so moving means re-creating identities and logging in again. A warm account beats a lower bill.

Where we would not claim an advantage

Neither product controls proxy quality, behaviour, or the history of the accounts you bring. Those decide most detection outcomes, and both products will get you flagged under bad conditions.
